Mindfulness Books
I have found the following Mindfulness Book really helpful...
Mindfulness - a practical guide to finding peace in a frantic world. It includes a CD of Mindfulness practices.

Mindfulness Practices
I found this website is also helpful and has lots of free mindfulness practice downloads on Free Mindfulness Practices Downloads

There is much written about trauma, traumatic responses, post traumatic stress disorder and what is considered a traumatic event or response to a traumatic incident.
I find David Baldwin's Trauma Pages helpful, although perhaps more aimed at the clinician than the client

Many people who have had difficult life incidents or traumatic incidents experience a great deal of shame in the present, even though the incidents happened in the past. I am trained in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy as mentioned in this clip about Combating Shame Through the Body with Dr. Janina Fisher. It shows how shame is carried in the body and can be resolved.
If you are struggling with shame you may find this TED Talk Listening to Shame - Brene Brown helpful as well.

Relationship Issues
As a lot of relationship issues can be solved by improving communication I find this helpful
How to improve communication
Improving Communication Skills to Resolve Conflict

Self Help
There are many websites that have self help ideas. If you find one here that particularly interest you but want some help to work through the information you have found I will do this with you in sessions. Self Help and Therapists Resources

Many people think that stress is due to events in their lives and they cannot do anything about how they are affecting them. Many people I have helped learn how if they learn about how stress affects their body and mind they can change this with a few simple techniques.

If the answer to your question is not here please ring me on 07534 651534 or WebHealer to ask me

Q What will happen when I ring you?
A If I am available I will answer the phone. I will ask a few questions about how I can help you and some brief details about what is troubling you. If we agree that we would like to meet we will arrange a suitable day and time. I will explain how to reach my garden office. This initial call generally takes up to 10 minutes.
If I am not available please leave a message with your name and number and I will ring you back as soon as I am free. Otherwise please WebHealer me and I will either e mail or ring you back. If you have a preference please say.

Q What will happen at the first session?
A At the first session my aim is to understand why you have come to see me and how I can help. I will ask questions to gain more information about you and your background. I will talk to you about confidentiality.

Q What will happen at the end of the first session?
A At the end of the first session we will discuss if you want to book the next session or think about it and ring me. I do this so you do not feel pressurised to make a decision there and then. We will also discuss how many sessions you would like to attend counselling for as this helps us set realistic goals.

Q What types of payment do you accept?
A I accept cash or cheque. Payment is made at each session.

Q How long is a session?
A Each session is 50 minutes long.
